Hi Collin,

I was afraight of that... but I switched to mySQL in the mean while, and
this works great.

The only issue with mySQL seems to be that I need to specify the
user/password on the driver parameter, and not as specific parameters
(ie.parameter 2 and 3) ?

Kind regards,
Paul

Paul,

Unless its changed, I believe you only get that option when you do the
install, So you can only uninstall and reinstall to get those

Hi,

Looking at WDSC AE 5.1.2 at my home PC... I do have the Websphere v5.0
servers available, but not the Test Environments of them (again bad luck for
my bridge) ? I don't know if I (un)selected this at install, or if it is a
result of a clean install (my other WDSC 5.1.2 which does have the v5 Test
Environments was an upgrade of a 5.1.1).

Is there a way to add the missing Test Environments for the v5 servers ?

Kind regards,
Paul

Hi Collin,

I just did the test, and using WAS 5.0 Express Test Environment does indeed
solve the issue. My application works again in my test environment.

Having a real test environment on iSeries is indeed recommended, but not
always that practical when doing some development at home (even while I have
a VPN to our iSeries), and especially when giving demo's to people.

Guess I will finally move to mySQL for this purpose (tried DB2 locally
before, but consider that as overkill). The risk is that it is indeed not
compatible (but that extra effort improves portability of the
application)... but I noticed that as well with certain things between the
WTE and the actual WAS on iSeries.

Kind regards,
Paul
