I agree with you and the recommendations, but as it was old code that ran fine 
on Tomcat on iSeries, and on the WTE... but then suddenly breaks when you 
deploy it to iSeries... you start worrying for lesser things after that.

I think it's a general recommendation with java not to use the default
package, as different environments seem to handle it in different ways

Not sure about beans as I always put the imports in anyway
