Paul, I seem to remember reading somewhere that the classes in packages that start with sun.* are unsupported and are not really intended for production use as they may be dropped at any time, so you might want to check that out I believe WAS 5.1 uses jdk 1.4 cheers Colin.W http://as400blog.blogspot.com Extension 5800 Direct dial 0870 429 5800 -----Original Message----- From: Paul Nicolay [mailto:Paul.Nicolay@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 30 November 2004 21:03 To: 'Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries' Subject: [WDSCI-L] sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver not supported on 5.1.2 ? Hi, I tried this message with another subject recently, but I still didn't get any further, hence this attempt. I have two PC's, one running WDSC AE 5.1.1, the other one WDSC AE 5.1.2. The problem is now that on the new one, I always get a class not found exception on Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver"); when being used in a servlet (the same runs fine as Java application on both). The code on both PC's is exactly the same (even that one line is enough to test it). Since it works as Java application, it looks like the included Websphere Express v5.1 Test environment no longer supports the bridge (which I used locally with MS-Access to test my application), but I can't find any reason why not, and how to eventually fix it. Kind regards, Paul _______________________________________________ This is the Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries (WDSCI-L) mailing list To post a message email: WDSCI-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/wdsci-l or email: WDSCI-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/wdsci-l.
