Colin,

I think I have the jar file added to the EAR correctly. At least it shows up
and there don't appear to be any errors. When I run the test JSP I still
receive an error. I copied the following lines from the server log. They are
followed by a lot of detailed log information.

                                WebServicesFault
 faultCode: Server.generalException
 faultString: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.ibm.as400.access.AS400
 faultActor: null
 faultDetail:

Does this help?

Rick

Rick

Find you jt400.jar file, right click and copy. Then click on your EAR
project and paste.

This should work. If this doesn't work try pasting it into a normal java
project first, then right click and copy from there, ive found that
sometimes WDSC doesn't like to paste directly from windows directories!

Jt400.jar wont appear in your list of java dependencies for your web project
until you paste it into the EAR project

Colin,

I'm not following you. When I right-click on the EAR project the option to
paste is grayed out.

Right-clicking on the web project and selecting java dependencies prompts
for a JAR file from an existing project. JT400 doesn't appear in a list
anywhere, I have to provide the path to it.

Am I missing something obvious?

I have two projects. The first is the actual web service called
CustomerManagement. This project has jt400 in its list of libraries. The
second is named CustomerManagementClient and contains the JSPs for testing
the web service. I have imported jt400.jar into the client project but I
get the same results.

Rick,

You should not need to add the jar to the server classpath.

Try adding jt400 to the EAR project (just paste it in), then click
properties on the web project, and tick jt400 under java dependencies.

Has anyone successfully tested a web service that connects to the iSeries
using the WDSc built in WAS Express test server?

I have a java class that successfully connects to the iSeries and calls an
RPG program. Using this class in a JSP it works fine. When I create a web
service out of it and try to run the generated test proxy I get an error
that the iSeries access classes can't be found. I specifically added them
to the server class path for the JSP's so I don't know why they aren't
found. I'm wondering if the web service function is running off of a
different class path and I need to add the iSeries access classes there
also. Unfortunately, any examples I have found to date on using web
services don't contain classes that connect to the iSeries.

I would appreciate any help anyone can offer.

TIA,

Rick
