Interesting, do you have a real simple program & dspf that demonstrates this? I'd like to try it myself and see what WF is doing. Mike Mike Hockings, P.Eng. You have to specify OVERLAY on the record format for the message to appear. Not sure what queue it sends it to but IBM says the following: "The Send Program Message (QMHSNDPM) API sends a message to a call message queue or the external message queue. (The external message queue is the part of the job message queue that handles messages between an interactive job and the work station user. It is not associated with a specific call stack entry.) This API allows the current call stack entry to send a message to its caller, a previous caller, or itself. " The messages show up in the same place that a regular errmsg would show up. I'm not quite visualizing what you are explaining. What message queue are you sending the error message to the user on? How are you displaying the message? With an overlay record or are you expecting it to show up on the message line? Mike Mike Hockings, P.Eng. WebSphere Development Tools for AS/400 - CODE/Designer & WebFacing ! IBM Canada Ltd. Instead of using error messages on fields and a whole bunch of indicators, I am now able to use one indicator on green screens to RI the field, then depending on the condition of the error, I can send whatever message I like to the user. It does require that the record format be OVERLAY for it to work in green screen, so I'm wondering what do I need to do for WebFacing for that to work. What exactly do you mean that you don't get the error messages anymore? Do they not appear in the destination queue or are you maybe trying to send break messages to the WF'd screen? Break messages are not currently supported by WF. Mike Mike Hockings, P.Eng. WebSphere Development Tools for AS/400 - CODE/Designer & WebFacing ! IBM Canada Ltd.
