I'm not sure what you mean by NO other LDAP server. EIM configuration is
stored in an LDAP directory which can be the one on your iSeries. Or, with
the current PTFs, on any LDAP server.

For authentication, WAS can use LDAP as the registry or you can create your
own (Custom), or Local OS which just means it checks for a valid iSeries
profile. (if you're running WAS on the iSeries)

The instructions in WDSC are pretty detailed as to the setup of each
component, but doesn't have much in the way of a 'big' picture.

Basically, if you decide to use EIM for SSO, you need to do the following:
      - Configure WAS security
      - Configure security for the applications
      - For LDAP, create users
      - Configure EIM
      - Configure EIM to map users to registries

You configure EIM using Ops. Nav., or use some of the tools that are
becoming available for it.

Your iSeries needs to be at V5R2 or later.

"(V5R2) Be prepared to learn about EIM, WAS Security, and LDAP.".

Hey Larry! Do you bright IBM guys have a quickstep/checklist for all those
iSeries boxes where there is NO other LDAP server, Radius authentication,
and the only real Websphere/Apache setups were completed 6 months ago using
Rochester "First Setup" walkthrough?

I bet there's more than 1 shop out there that wouldn't mind that list.

Thanks
