Rick I use the Data perspective with I-series. The following are steps, I use as a interactive SQL. (1) Setup a new connection (I presume for I-Series) under " DB servers ". A note of caution, select the required schema and tables only ( otherwise, it will load all the views and tables) (2) Under the db icon in " DB servers " right click and select " Import to Folder ", which would set up the selected schemas and tables under " DB Definition " (3) Click right on "Statements" as "NEW " in 'DB server", and you must ready to write the SQL for the schema/tables selected. I have proceeded, to this level, whenever I run SQL, somewhere in the WDSC/JDBC the CCSID is messing my output (characters are hexed out and number are OK). I could not find time to work on that yet. I hope this helps. If not let me know. I have not figured it out yet, instead using iNav SQL support or green screen. I think the intent is to enable SQL development from here but you may have to install some additional DB2 CDs (which come with WDSc) first. , which however. -----Original Message----- From: John Wallroff [mailto:JWALLROFF@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, October 14, 2004 6:09 PM To: 'Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries' Subject: RE: [WDSCI-L] Stored procedures definitions, can you work with th em in WDSC Bump Is there no tool at all to work with Stored Procedures other then SQL??? -----Original Message----- From: John Wallroff [mailto:JWALLROFF@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, October 12, 2004 8:40 AM To: 'Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries' Subject: [WDSCI-L] Stored procedures definitions, can you work with them in WDSC We are pretty new to WDSC here. Is there a way to access stored procedure definitions in WDSC? We are currently getting to them with Ops Nav and also with a 3rd party app. Thanks John. -----Original Message----- From: craigs@xxxxxxxxx [mailto:craigs@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, October 12, 2004 7:58 AM To: wdsci-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [WDSCI-L] LPEX CL prompt caching By default, in WDSC, CL help and prompts are cached on your PC. If a command changes, you would not know about it in the LPEX editor. You can change this behavior in Windows > Preferences > Remote Systems > iSeries > Cache. Click on "Clear" to clear the cache. Then check "Disable caching". I did not notice any difference in performance whether this was checked or not. But, disabling caching let me see the new changes to the command. Even when caching was enabled, I did not notice any difference between the different cache settings. Maybe I have a quick connection to the iSeries. Why would we want to cache CL help and prompts if performance is apparently not an issue? Even if performance were an issue, shouldn't WDSC (with caching) still check for changes to the command? _______________________________________________ This is the Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries (WDSCI-L) mailing list To post a message email: WDSCI-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/wdsci-l or email: WDSCI-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/wdsci-l.
