When I want to duplicate a source member, I right click on it, and select
copy. Then right click on the source file name and select paste - it then
ask me if I want to rename it (the member) , I give it my new name, then
the CPYSRCF command comes up, and I click OK.

RE: [WDSCI-L] copy/paste & compare feature

You can drag/drop or cut/paste if the target is within the filter, but not
the filter itself. What that means is if you have a filter for a library
and expand it out to see the source files and then expand the source
files,
you can do the copy. But if your filter is just for the members of a
source
file, you can't drag a source to the filter name.

If you copy the member to the same source file it asks if you want to
rename. If you drag to another source file it brings up a cpysrcf prompt.

Hope this helps,
Cary Phillips

Subject: [WDSCI-L] copy/paste & compare feature

Group,
In RSE, I would like to right click my source and then paste my source as
another name, although the paste is greyed out. The reason for this is
the
File/SAVE AS takes forever - I want a quick way to rename or copy a
source
member. It seems to me, someone on this forum (maybe Kelly Cookson
- who always has great ideas) has suggested a user function that will do
something like this. I've searched my archive of "favorite tips" but
cannot
find this one.

Also, does anyone use the COMPARE with EACH OTHER feature. I think this
would be good to use if I could only edit the document while in compare
mode. I can get the differences, but I am not allowed to make changes on
the compare sources. With CODE/400 - when comparing, I could make
changes.
I am using version 5.1.0.3.
