Different people like different tools. A lot of people like PHP. It's grown from 2 million to 20 million domains in 4 years (http://www.php.net/usage.php) and it's currently the most popular module installed on Apache servers (which are the most widely used servers on the Web) (http://www.securityspace.com/s_survey/data/man.200408/apachemods.html). PHP also has a higher programming commununity index from TIOBE than Delphi, Python, and JavaScript (http://www.tiobe.com/tpci.htm). I just happen to fall into the crowd of those who like PHP.
