Thanks All,

We had loaded 5.0 on the first of two PCs and it loaded fine. It had 256 of
RAM, I now know. As you all know mine doesn't. I am now waiting for memory
upgrade and 5.1 before I try again. The first PC is getting memory too.

Thank you
Kendall

When I select Window - Preferences, there is no node 'LPEX Editor'. In the
Help texts, it says that such a node should be there. I wonder why this
particular node is missing in my Preferences tree. Does anyone have a
suggestion?

I suspect this question has been answered before, but I can't find out
where.

I am trying to utilitze the interactive debugging feature of WDSC 5.1. I
have set up all of the debug specifications for the process, but when I try
to start the main program I get a dialog telling me to:

Make sure the communication daemon is running (It is, since the only
daemon option is to stop the daemon)
Open a 5250 emulator session and use the strrsesvr command ( I have)

Things still don't work. Do I need to start the 5250 session with
strrsesvr first?

I had a similar problem at one point (see the WDSSCi archives, search for
'LPEX preferences problem'). You may need to update WDSCi through the
Install/Update perspective.

Thanks,
Kelly

The entire WDSCi list is archived and searchable. See

I have often found answers to questions by search the archives. It's a
pretty good resource.

Interesting - it is obviously highly dependent on the individual machine.
All the "memory challenged" machines I tried to load it on were all IBM
Thinkpads (3 of them) and Compaq desktops (about 8).

Either you are very lucky or I'm very unlucky !! <grin>

Have you been running WDSc for a while? In my first load of 5.1 I had this
option "disappear" on me after running for a couple of weeks. I believe Joe
Pluta reported the same thing.

I had to blow away my workspace and let it create a new one before the
option came back. Hopefully the IBMers will have a less drastic solution
for you!

As a couple of people have mentioned, this is a "known" issue. The
standard workaround is to go into your .metadata directory and rename
the folder .config to something like saveconfig. Restart WDSc, and it
should rebuild all of your preferences.

Joe
