John,

I successfully run WDSC on my 256mb 600Mhz Dell laptop, with very few
problems.

Even the earlier versions ran successfully, but were pretty slow.
5.0 was better, 5.1 runs runs quite happily, even when running WAS Test
environment, but that does slow it down a fair bit.

If your prepared to accept the slower response time, which I have found is
acceptable for most things, then its OK.
I think 128mb of Ram might be too little though.

Cheers

Personally I have never been able to get WDSc to install on a machine with
less than 256Mb of memory. Even if you succeed - at 256Mb I have found that
I got frequent unexplained crashes and the performance (actually that is the
wrong word since it implies that it _did_ perform) was horrible.

I would recommend that you upgrade to at least 256Mb and even then only run
the CODE editor - forget about WDSc until you have at least 512Mb.\

I would also suggest that you forget the 5.0 version - the install was
plagued with problems - many of which affected slow/memory constrained
systems. 5.1 has been available for several months now - is faster - more
reliable - has more features and actually installs cleanly most of the time.

One other thought - is your version of Windows installer up to date? That
can cause problems. Check for updates at the MS web site.
