RFCHDETL would have to be a file record format for this code to compile. Is it possible you have field(s) defined below your ds without the 's' designating the field a stand-alone field? Wouldn't this be exactly what you'd see if the LFCHDETL file in fact had fewer keys defined than the RFCHDETL file? Eric DeLong Sally Beauty Company MIS-Project Manager (BSG) 940-898-7863 or ext. 1863 -----Original Message----- From: Cromar, Graham [mailto:graham.cromar@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, March 22, 2004 9:41 PM To: 'wdsci-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [WDSCI-L] Verification reports spurious error message when using %kds bif I received the following severity 30 error message when attempting to verify an RPG IV free format program which uses the %kds built-in-function to chain to a logical file with multiple key fields. The data structure was set up as follows: FLFCHDETL uf a e k disk D DetlKey DS likerec(RFCHDETL : *Key) /free DetlKey.CHEMP = CHEMP; DetlKey.CHDATE = CHDATE; DetlKey.CHTIME = CHTIME; Chain %Kds(DetlKey)LFCHDETL; /end-free RNF7071: Number of KFLDs in KLIST is greater than number of key fields in file. As you can see, it is quite impossible for the data structure to have a different number of key fields than the file when specified in this manner. In fact, when you actually compile the program you get no errors. IIRC, I am running WDSc version 5.1.0.2 Anyone else run into this one? > Allied International Credit Corp. > Graham Cromar > Senior Programmer/Analyst > 16635 Yonge Street, Suite 26, Newmarket, Ontario, L3X 1V6 > Tel: (905) 944-4715, Fax: (905) 470-8155 > Email: graham.cromar@xxxxxxxxxxx > http://www.aiccorp.com > This email message and any attachments are intended only for the use of the addressee named above and may contain information that is privileged and confidential.
