Jeff, you should uninstall WDT400, and then delete any files left behind.
This should automatically remove the "IBM Distributed Debugger" but will
leave behind the "IBM WebSphere Studio Pro V3.5.3".

You can keep the "IBM WebSphere Studio Pro" product, but WDSc has much
better tooling for this now.

With regards to Rumba, WDT400 has no dependency on this tool. These are
completely independent products.

I should point out that WDSc V5.1 has slightly higher system requirements
than WDT400. Please refer to the following website for details:
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/awdtools/wdt400/sysreq/index2.html

Basically, the more RAM the better. If you plan on doing web development
and would like to exploit the built in WebSphere Application Server, you
should have 768Meg minimum.

Hope this helps...

I've been subscribed to the WDSC list for almost a year, but without having
the software on my PC most of what I read made little sense. (I admit, for
the past few months I have been deleting the listserv messages without even
opening them! ;-O )

Anyway, now I get to install WDSC on my machine, and need to know if I need
to un-install any of the following from my PC:

                                     IBM Distributed Debugger
                                     IBM WebSphere Studio Pro v3.5.3

I currently have CODE/400 on my PC. Any other programs/objects that need to
be un-installed? There are some IBM WDT400# entries that look suspect -- I
have a folder on my C: drive called WDT400 and it contains what appear to
be
CODE/400 programs and objects. But then, we also have Rumba (yuk!) and I
wonder if these IBM WDT400# entries might be related to Rumba Sessions.
Also, there is an entry IBM WDT400 V5R1M0 -- looks rather intimidating.

Any help you can give would be appreciated! Thx!
/jam
