Jim,

Make sure that you have both Perl and a JDK 1.3.1 or higher installed (with
the java executable in the path). Some Linux systems also don't like the
CR and LF characters in the daemon.linux and server.linux scripts, you can
fix this by running the command:

dos2unix daemon.linux
dos2unix server.linux

Finally make sure that the daemon.linux and server.linux scripts have
execute permission using the chmod command.

Hope this helps.

I am trying to get the RSE server to work on my Linux box (Redhat 9) I
loaded the rseserver.jar into the /opt/rseserver directory, unpacked the
jar file per instructions in the help files. When I run ".daemon.linux"
the result I get is: " : bad interpreter: No such file or directory" I
assume this is because the script is not finding Perl. Perl is loaded from
the original Redhat install of the system. Any Ideas?
