No, unfortunately, its not waiting for the password. I was just looking
at another thread from Samuel Lennon
"I can get to the internet using IE 6.0. I've added the HTTP proxy
address
and port on the "Install/Update" tab. When I click "Search Now" it
dies
almost immediately. (Before it just waited, and waited and waited.)
I've
tried checking the box in "Web Triggered Updates" and it doens't seem
to
make any difference. Using the system browser vs the embedded
browser
   didn't make any difference either."

The wait and wait and wait on the Install/Update is what started this
whole mess.

Mike,

Its not waiting for you to enter your password is it. Ive found that the
RSE window is easily hidden if your type in another app for instance, so
WDSC appears to be locked up until you minimize all windows

Joe,
I've done as you suggested, and now I can get into the java, debug, web
etc, but it still locks up when I try to open the RSE perspective.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Mike

When things get THIS bollixed up, Mike, it's often a sign that your
configuration is hosed. In that case, about all you can do is rebuild
it from scratch. I would attempt the following: go into the .metadata
folder for your workspace and rename the .config folder to something
like saveconfig. Then restart WDSC on the workspace. This should
rebuild the configuration.

Let me know how it works.

Joe
