Yes, I agree this it a bit annoying.  Some of the updates pre-req others so
they have to be installed in a specific order.  Update manager won't give
you the option to install an update unless you already have the pre-reqs,
that is why you need to install and re-search.  Perhaps this will be a
little easier in future releases.
