When you first create your WebFacing project you have to also create an
"Enterprise Application Project". These correlate to an EAR file which is
ultimately the way an application is deployed and run in J2EE. When you
deploy a WAR file to WebSphere, it just synthesizes an EAR file for you.

Perhaps you deleted this project at some time. If you didn't, then
associate that project with a server and you should be able to run your
app.

Otherwise, use the New Project wizard to create one of these projects,
then edit the EAR Deployment Descriptor application.xml. Click on the
Module tab and then click Add and select your WebFacing project.

Then you should be able to run it.

        Subject: [WDSCI-L] Webfacing deployment

One of my webfacing projects was working OK on the WDSCi test
environment.
I exported the .WAR and Installed it on my iSeries WAS Express server.
Testing went OK using IE browser. I was not happy with the final layout so
decided to re-do the style. Webfacing DDS conversion went OK, BUT when I
click on <run on server> I get the message âCanât deploy the module
because
it is not contained within a valid enterprise applicationâ This message
stays whether I choose an existing or a new server.

Where can I get an explanation of this message? How can I fix it? (by
deleting one or all of the run time components?)

Can anyone help please? My other (similar) projects just convert & run OK.
I
am using WDSCi V5.1 and think that I have all the recent PTFâs.

Thanks,
Peter
