I had something similar happen when I tried to change the source type while editing a member in RSE. It apparently changed the local copy. I was not able to get the change to the iSeries by saving the member, as I recall. Eventually I think I lost the member - got some messages about updating something that did not make sense. It was a couple weeks ago - I'm on 5.01. I right-clicked in the remote system perspective and took the Properties option, then changed the source type there - could not in the lower-left window where attributes of the selected item are displayed.

Rick, were you editing the member when you renamed it?

I can't think of a more straight forward method than I describe. My
main concern would be, why was the member deleted in the first place????
