Any chance of something blocking the TCP/IP port between your PC and the iSeries? Did you check QSYSOPR for messages? Perhaps some setting is blocking the requests? If you prompt the CHGDDMTCPA command what is the value for PWDRQD? Mine is *YES. In 5.0, to open source they use the Record >Access server. I am not sure how you start it, but I think it is STRTCPSVR >*DDM. Interesting - I am having the same problem as Sean. The DDM server is running on my 400 as well, but I still get the Record Access failed message also when doing a verify. I have attempted keying in the command STRTCPSVR *DDM from the command line, but I just get the message that it's already started. Anyone have any other ideas?
