There is very little "in transition". We are adding new stuff next release, and we will maybe tweak an algorithm here or there as users like Jon lobby us, but it is definitely not the case that things "will look significantly different". Nobody should delay using/learning V5.0 out of fear that what they learn will not apply in the next release. The route is set, and not changing. It's hard to focus on the destination (of becoming productive in the new tools) when the route keeps changing. I need to work with V5, though, before I say too much.... <g> Eric DeLong Sally Beauty Company MIS-Project Manager (BSG) 940-898-7863 or ext. 1863 -----Original Message----- From: Jon Paris [mailto:Jon.Paris@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, June 03, 2003 6:24 AM To: Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries Subject: RE: [WDSCI-L] re: opening member >> How does learning a product with features in transition help me? Nit, nit nit nit nit! Well you're learning WDSc and much of that is in "transition" <grin> or at least I hope to goodness it is because there are so many buried "gothchas" with regard to caching, connected/no connected, synchronization of iSeries projects, etc. etc. that I cannot believe the next release won't look significantly different.
