In the Workbench Preferences under Remote Systems, there is a section that
lets you control the various iSeries language parsers.  For CL, one of the
settings has to do with auto-formatting and is on by default.

One good thing about the CL editor, is it does preserve your case, it is
just that it moves the source around.  Like I said, it has some good side
effects, like being able to insert code on a line, and have it properly
wrap automatically.

As for the prompter, I would agree if it took a lot of effort, I just do
not see how it could take more than a day or two to code the change.  Also,
I think the prompter should be a dialog and not a view.  One thing that
stinks about it being a view is that it does not let you use the editor in
full screen mode.
