The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Ok, here's the beginnings of a WDSC plug-in developers wish list ...
1. Include Eclipse, SWT, & JFace Javadocs in the Eclipse online help.
2. Correctly link RSE provided widget Javadoc to the appropriate pages
in #1.
3. Include Javadoc for some of the handy utility functions & classes,
such as 'com.ibm.etools.systems.core.messages.SystemMessage'.
4. Include the SOURCE for Eclipse provided code when adding the "Plug-in
dependencies" library to a project. For instance, when I add the
plug-in dependencies, 'org.eclipse.swt.win32.win32.x86_3.2.2.v3236.jar'
(among others) is added to the project. This is fine ... but the source
attachment that this jar has is itself ... and the jar
'org.eclipse.swt.win32.win32.x86_3.2.2.v3236.jar' includes no source.
If you're trying to debug the behavior of something in eclipse (even if
it's just to figure out how it's doing something), it's kind of hard to
do it without the source.
5. Similar to #3, include a Javadoc reference for the attached JAR.
Obviously this would be best if it were to reference the included help
Javadoc, so we know it's the correct version.
5. Update the examples in the online help.
I'm sure I'll be building on this.
