Mark,

We've been using AVR for a little over a year now. What our .Net people
do is pass me a C# (.Net) object, as you can tell I lean more to the RPG
side of things. From that object I add/update the date on the iSeries.
I have several methods that the .Net folks call for different functions,
get specific data, add records, etc.

I basically either use their object for my input or I return a
predefined object or one they use in their system, filled out with the
iSeries data. Only problems I have run across is the intellisense does
not work on Nullable fields/object and defining of List<>'s are more
like VB that C#. You can use a RPG-Free code with a few differences or
write in more of a C# style of code. This allows someone like me to
migrate over to the .Net world as learn more and my brain becomes more
object orientated.

If you have any specific questions I'd be happy to try and answer.

Hello all,

I'm at a client that is using ASNA VRPG for .Net. I have been tasked
to create a data access layer over their database in order to streamline
some of their web development.

My question to you is how would you implement the Add/Update functions
of a data class. I thought about passing a .Net datatable back to the
procedure and write/update from that, but I was wondering if anyone has
any more elegant solutions.

Thanks,

Mark
