don't think it will break anything, but would be worth running a Query over
INP35 looking at field PGMJ35 to see if the value in question is still assigned
to any items.

You will have to be careful, some of the System 21 supplied major codes do
impact the way some functions are performed. If the major code was not
System 21 supplied most likely it doesn't impact program functionality. A
lot of times the code is used to supply text literals for reports e.g. PGMJ
codes provide text literal for reports. If the code cannot be found in DESC
then "??????????" is output on reports and displays.

Subject: [SYSTEM21] Description File Maintenance

I've gone into Description Maintenance (1/INM) and entered in a
description type and major type. On that screen (IN037) there's a F11
option to delete. In looking at the S21 manuals, there's no mention of
this function. My question is this, if I delete a specific desc.
type/major type what potential problems could it cause?

I have a user who's wanting to delete a major type code, but I know the
code has been used in the past and I'm not sure if this will cause any
problems. Can someone enlighten me?
