Open GL Periods -- SYSTEM21

Is there any limit to the number of GL periods that can remain open atone time.

I am in a situation where our Y/E may need to be open until April or May.
This would have us have 5 or 6 prior GL periods open at one time.

Or would it be better to actually close the Y/E and use 'Prior Period'(9/GLP)

postings to make any changes.
