I do it all the time using Access, Excel or AS400 Transfer. My preference for uploading is Access because of its relational database capabilities for data verification and manipulation purposes. MSP20 (Header), MSP24 (Route), MSP28 (BOM), and don't forget PDP26 (Output) are the necessary files. This assumes Item Master, SR, and Production Details. The biggest pitfall is the integrity of data you are importing. I suggest you create sample templates (Excel/Text) from a good representative Route / Structure and exclude columns with blanks (AS400 does not like nulls). Microsoft is ok to use but beware, it likes to try to think for you and convert alphanumeric fields to numeric. It really becomes a nuisance. -----Original Message----- From: system21-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:system21-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of mon.ferriols@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, July 21, 2005 5:54 AM To: system21@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [SYSTEM21] BOM uploading from flat file Hi List, Has anyone ever tried building a BOM using a flat file that is uploaded to S21?
