FTP is probably simpler, faster, and more debuggable.

Subject: [SYSTEM21] Running S21 tasks from outside S21

Hi,

We need to run a S21 (bespoke) task in order to extract some data to be
used by a PC progarm.

A search of the archives comes up with with the suggestion of using
EXCAMTASK. Unfortunately when I try this in Aurora it does nothing. The
old RUNAMTASK does seem to work, but a very wise person has advised that
this is an old command that we shouldn't use. Does anyone have any advice
on that subject?

The second part of the question is whether it's better to use FTP, Client
Access or some clever stuff with database triggers (i.e. the PC program
uses ODBC to write to an AS/400 DB file that has a trigger on it). Again,
I'd be grateful for any advice on this.

Best Regards
Chris
