We've been asked to provide functionality from within Explorer which would allow a user to press a function key on, say, the Order Entry Header (AOP) display, and have a web-page appear that contains customer notes (located on a web-server) associated with the customer from which the function key was placed. In other words, the function key would, essentially start up a web application and pass it the customer number and AS/400 user id. The web application would then launch and handle the user interaction with the web-based customer notes. I can accomplish this from "green screen" AOP using the Client Access PCO function. We simply issue STRPCO when the user signs on and then from AOP, when the user presses the function key, we generate a STRPPCMD command string that invokes Internet Explorer passing a URL with the customer number embedded in it. I've noted in the archives that PCO doesn't work from Explorer. Has anyone else had a similar need and found an alternative approach? Not to limit solutions, but maybe something involving macros or screen scrapers or...? ==Kevin Brunk The Butler Company ********************************************************************** CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: The information transmitted in this message is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material.
