Thanks to all who've responded to my email yesterday. This seems to be a timely topic with the advent of SOX. As I emailed the list yesterday, I also opened and AnswerLink case on this as well and wanted to share the helpful response I received there. It contains a note regarding the logic I proposed (the text below regarding the "environment code" [CUSC in my logic]). "Kevin, You are correct on all counts if your users are strictly using the Green Screens and not Explorer! All three items that you detailed above [in my previous email:KB] are absolutely correct. Good analysis! If your users are using Explorer, then you need to stay with the APG30PHY file only because with Explorer, you are not authorizing options via menus. Also be careful whether the users are using menus that are in a strict environment code, or whether they are using the blank environment. The infrastructure programs will attempt to find the authority in the specified environment FIRST. If not there, then it will walk back to the blank environment. If authority is there in the blank environment, then the user is authorized. There is a report that you can run that will tell you all of this by user. I know your report sorts by menu/option rather than by user, but would either be satisfactory for your auditors? If so, take the easier way and run the report from the available options inside STRM400. I would suggest that you take one user to begin with and run the available report. Then run your custom version and make certain that you get the same results. Once you do, then you can be certain that it's correct and go ahead and run it for all users.
