I came across this at a S/21 user a few years ago where this happened -
They were the ones that actually logged the problem. They ran reports that
told them they had an unprocessed transaction and the help desk talked them
through resetting the UPDNOG on FLP007 so that it would pick up the
'unprocessed FLP008. Suffice to say this put the G/L out of balance. If
the zero UPDNOG had been assigned to a FLP007 record there would be no
effect.

I'm assuming Garry was jesting.

Someone in a previous thread mentioned that it was ok to let it roll over.
The one potential downfall was that (if you have an OLD version) it would
roll over to 0 instead of 1.

Something with an UPDNOG number of 0 might cause a problem. I'm not sure
exactly what, but it seems to me that the item may post twice (once with an
UPDNOG of 0, and once again with a different UPDNOG because a 0 in UPDNOG
indicated it hasn't posted).

Just speculation on my part though.

We are due to roll over by the end of the year and have not purged data yet
either.

-Mike

Are there any implications when the UPDNOG numbers rolls over to number 1
and there is a G/L FLP007 or FLP008 that already contains the number 1? My
company has never purged the G/L.

Thanks for your consideration.
