You can set up an auto reply to the message. I don't know how to do it, but I know it can be done. This might have limited application if it is a very generic message. Also, you can buy monitoring software (such as Bytware's Messenger Plus) that can answer the message or send a page to your cellphone to let you know something is up. It is very flexible. You could even use this software to answer the message from a cellphone while you are out of the office. We use this software, and like it very much. Mike PS: I don't work for Bytware :) -----Original Message----- From: Dept Informatique [mailto:mis_dept@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, April 01, 2004 12:02 PM To: System21@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [SYSTEM21] EDI Transmission Hanging Our system wakes up every hour to transmit and receive transaction from our VAN, it retries 3 times if the line is busy, then terminates the call. About once a month, it "forgets" to terminate the call. The job just hangs and all other jobs are waiting in line behind it. And it usually happens during the night or week-end. Any clue on how to setup a trigger in the system that would monitor this job, and after 30 minutes, would terminate it. It can't look at CPU usage since it is not taking any. _________________________ Danielle Labbe Beco Industries Ltd Anjou, Quebec, Canada, _______________________________________________ This is the System 21 Users (SYSTEM21) mailing list To post a message email: SYSTEM21@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/system21 or email: SYSTEM21-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/system21.
