Yes - you can set a variety of policies to reorder up to a point or
whatever. This is set by item/stockroom but defaults to the company profile
setting. There is a comprehensive description of each option and its related
parameters in the Company Maintenance section of Infobase.

Periodically you run the option on the RQ menu to generate requisitions from
Inventory, this is similar to the Reorder report. You have to option to
review and edit, before converting the requisitions to Purchase Orders.

The can be run alongside MRP, and is typically used for 'indirect' items in
their own stockroom(s). I would suggest you always use the convert to PO
option selected by this stockroom to avoid duplication of orders - that is
MRP items being ordered both by reorder point and MRP.

Hope this helps

Subject: [SYSTEM21] demand from inventory

List,

Is it possible to get an items demand solely from inventory? For example, i
don't want to put an item in my BOM because its usage varies, say pallets.
My shipments may or may not use pallets, it all depends on a variety of
things. But i don't want to order these manually since my forecast changes
from week to week. Can i just tag the item as having a reorder policy of up
to reorder point, and just order based on my stock levels regardless of
forecast entered?
