We are using RF technology, but only for inventory movements, not
production based transactions. Along with the necessary hardware, we've
created a database which attaches the part number to a barcode. On the
System 21 inventory side, the file INP1D works great. This feeds the
inventory background job (STKUPD) and updates the System 21 database
perfectly. Hopefully the production reporting side has a like file.

We are currently investigating the implementation of Radio Frequency
transaction processing. Is there any company (preferable a food
company)
out there who has implemented RF transaction processing within the
stockrooms and uses it to issue materials to and book production into
work orders.
Our work orders may be linked to sales orders and lot control is an
absolute necessity. We run quite a number of work orders on the same
workstation in any one day. We are currently running a combination of
stockrooms and warehouses within System21.

Thanks,

Sanne
