For what it's worth,  We use both the MM and IBM's job scheduler.
Also, we have the Day Start job set up as batch, but I can't take any credit
for that, my predecessor set it up.

Now that's what I call an answer!  You are correct - the Day Start job is 
being called "interactively".  Let me change that and see what effect it 
has.

Personally, I like MM, and thought I understood it well - but you have 
certainly told me something I didn't know.
