Hi Jack, We upgraded to V5R1 in the middle of last year and did not experience any problems with the fax adapter and/or Cobwebb. We have since moved from Cobwebb to Quadrant for faxing. Although the fax adapter is no longer supported by IBM it still works at 5.1. IBM has done away with SPD type cards/bus, which the fax adapter used, and has gone to all PCI type cards/slots. You can also still use SPD cards at V5R2 except on 4XX and 5XX systems. The replacement for the Integrated Fax Adapter is the PCI Integrated Analog Modem. You should be able to find information on it at the IBM web site. We have been using the integrated fax adaptor and Cob Web software for faxing purchase orders to our customers. According to IBM the integrated fax adaptor 'is not disabled in R510 but is not supported'. We are also not sure of the status of the Cob Web software. Has anyone else upgraded from this configuration and did everything still work normally after the upgrade????
