We run a task on the 400 which is commissioned from a Pc program. This is done via the IBM Client Access "Run Remote Command" facility on the Pc. Simply, the Pc program uses this feature to run a command we created on the AS/400, which in turn runs a CL program, which calls a JBA task through EXCAMTASK. There might be a better way, but that worked for us.
