Don't forget you can make use of the payment methods.
You will probably find that changing to an "electronic" payment method will
cause a program failure (as these programs do not exist).
It is these programs you need to create.

Yes, GEAC (and many others) have been there done that.  You can assign a
'batch' number and an audit file etc.

And Yes each Bank has its own standard.

The mods we wrote to capture this data for the bank started at:
PL468       RPG         Allocate cheque numbers.

We created a work file when the user pressed F8 to allocate the Check
numbers...

After that we wrote some user interfaces to make it easy to work with and
then
automated some FTP processes to the bank...

And as was mentioned earlier Chase will want you to conform to their own
specifications...

I don't think you will be able to avoid at least some coding...
