FAST/400 is supposedly a tool from a third party that gets around the Governor restrictions. On a related topic I think there is a PTF the fixes the CFINT01 hog we got it here at Georgia Crown , I'm not sure whether you need to specifically request it or no though. We're runningV5R1M0 of OS/400 here. Stephen J Wood. Have not heard of FAST/400... Yes I recall folks talking about WRKSYSACT in an earlier discussion on compiling interactively. I'm still in the process of obtaining that command (no duals here). Hopefully it's available as part of software subscription. Speaking of govenors, anyone using or familiar with FAST/400? You should notice a job called CFINT01 taking up a *lot* of CPU time when this happens. Normally, CFINT01 takes up minimal CPU time, 1.3 or so, but when the governor kicks in it eats up tremendous amounts of CPU time, I've seen it up to like 87% CPU. Understand, all CFINT01 is doing at those times is wasting CPU cycles so you can't use 'em. This is the dreaded "governor". If you go over the workload you purchased from IBM, artificial jobs kick in and drive the CPU up to 100%.
