Which version of IBM are you on? I have a feeling that 3.5.0. on JBA had a
lot of SQL queries and data updates that were badly coded and that these
were aggravated by certain OS versions. I know we had a similar problem
with Workshop but when we upgraded the operating system and JBA it went
better. Do you have the source code to the programs? Do they have any SQL
searches/updates. When a job is running if you look at all open files and
look at the rate of read/writes do they appear very slow?
Thanks,
Jenny M

I'm seeking information anyone may have regarding
performance issues
in JBA system 21, with regard specifically to inventory
transactions. A
specific example in our case would during a receipt of goods
by our shipping
and receiving department (43/PMP). Our users at times will
experience multi
- minute response times during these transactions. We've
reviewed hardware,
scheduled other CPU intensive jobs outside of normal
business hours and
monitored user jobs. We will see the background job
(MJ_CTL1DX)in subsystem
OSLMJ slow to a crawl. The problem is sporadic. The
thought here is
leaning toward record locking issues but we haven't been
able prove the
theory as yet. Any input would be appreciated.
We're running JBA system 21, version 3.5.0.
Thanks in advance,
