I wanted to thank all of you for the insightful responses I've received, both public and private. This is the kind of response that makes this forum so valuable... I really appreciate the caliber of the people who contribute to this list... To answer your question about why we would ever want to do this... Harvard Industries, Inc. has filed Chapter 7 Bankruptcy papers with the court. That means that Harvard will be liquidating it's assets and will cease to exist. Pieces of it are being sold off and will continue as going concerns under new ownership and new names. So they wanted to make a clean accounting cutoff when the last sale is final and they can end their existence with the year end close... Nice and clean... I do believe we have found a way to make the powers that be happy without a 13th period... That's the short answer... The computer department and the computer along with the ERP software will be retained by the new ownership... So you won't be rid of me yet... ;) Peace.
