Basically this is used for those companies who run a non calendar year
e.g. July to June, that also wish to see a calendar year perspective. It
is also useful if you have 2 companies with different year-ends. Some
companies set up their fiscal year being 01 (e.g. July) and their end
being 12 (June). There alternate year end would then be 06. You can also
set up the calendar year 01 - 12 and have your fiscal year end as 07 and
your alternate year end as 12. Both methods work equally well. When
choosing alternate YTD in an inquiry or report the P&L figures are
adjusted accordingly.

One thing to note is that the alternate year end and adjustment periods
are mutually exclusive.

Has anyone ever used the "Alternate Year" field in the GL Company Profile?
If so, how does this work?
