Kits are maintained in 4/INM. We use this option for some of our items.
See the Inventory Maintenance documentation, chapter 1. It works well for
us. Some kits have various components and quantities and others we use
just to sell some items in case quantities at a discounted price as
compared to the price it would be for the single item times the quantity.
i.e item ABC with quantity 6. One thing to watch.... when we were using
Release 3.5.2 SP3, we found that if a quote was entered for a kit item that
had multiple component item numbers (example Kit item ZZZ is made up of qty
1 of item 123, qty 1 of item 4546, and qty 1 of item 908) and then the
quote was converted to an order, the kit parent item would not allocate and
therefore the pick note could not be raised for that item. Quotes for kit
items with only a single component with multiple quantities were ok. We
reported to Geac, and they provided a solution. We are on Service Pak 4
now. I'm not sure if this was fixed in SP4 or if out IT dept reapplied the
fix after we went to SP4. You may want to check Solution 294253 on
AnswerLink.

At one time I remember some talk about "Kit" processing within System21
Order Entry/Inventory. Can anyone out there tell me if they are using this
feature, know more about it, or if it's even there? Is there any
documentation on it? I would appreciate the feedback.
