/INP is the "Processing" menu items - no one belongs in there except those
who are responsible for inventory adjustments and movements etc.
Buyers are different from organization to organization - but I would guess
that this is not the responsibility of your buyers.

Of course I agree with giving access to Inquiry. Inquiries should be open
(in my opinion) to anyone in an organization who may need to know the
status of inventory.

Hi all,

Recently our company's buyer asked me for permissions to access the /INP
menus. My knowledge of any contraindications for this are limited. However
I
know that the former MIS manager seemed to have very specific opinions
about
who should be allowed to go where in terms of potential business conflicts
of interests. Unfortunately I was only here for three or so days before
she
left and we did not have time to discuss in-depth aspects of System 21
other
than a few AS/400 commands.

>From my vantage I do not see any problems but if that were the case
wouldn't
the buyer already have access? I hate to tell her "no" for no better
reason
than, "There must've be a reason the former MIS mgr didn't want you in
there."

Anyway, your opinion is always appreciated.

Alan
