Magic numbers were hidden fields in display files that System/21 Explorer uses to decide which panel to show. If you look at the sources you have for display files (if you get source!) then you will see something like.. %%%A%A* Following record format ID added by ADDDSPFRID command %%%A%A 2 2'*++OE00X' %%%A%A DSPATR(ND) This means you are in conversational order entry to System/21 explorer.
