Jeff

Thanks for the warning! I have noticed this in the past, but so far, so
good. I did keep a backup though. Unfortunately, even though we have a
completely separate test set of libraries, there is only one Application
Manager to control them. I have tried to segregate the new modules as much
as possible from the live, so we'll just have to see.

Angus,

In addition, please be sure to have a complete system backup before you
perform
the AMINSTALL...
Especially in your case, since you are "EVALUATING" these modules and may
decide
later to UNINSTLALL them...
There is no easy way to uninstall modules... Unless you have a backup of
all
the IPG Libraries...
Even then it can be tedious - especially if you have changed any thing in
system
manager after the AMINSTALL...

It should be noted that some applications do behave differently when other
applications are detected as being installed on the system...
Therefore if you decline to use these mfg. applications going forward you
probably will desire to uninstall these mfg. apps...

Best of luck...

Angus,

Once the applications have been restored to your system, the next step in
to perform an AMINSTALL. This initialised the application in Application
Manager and copies into it, the menus, library lists, tasks, etc. This
will need to be run for each of the Manufacturing applications that you are
installing. If you look at the Tips and Techniques section of the
Application Manager on-line documentation, it explains this command in some
more detail.

I hope this helps. If you still have problems, let me know.

We have just loaded the JBA manufacturing modules which we want to test for
a trial period. After adding new packs with the temporary codes supplied in
Administration, I can't seem to get the applications/menus/tasks to appear.
Does anyone know a step by step method for adding new modules to the
Application Manager?

TIA

Angus
