According to the earliest notes I found left in the source code, this module was enhanced in Jan of 1994 (I question the accuracy of this date since it was code that was cloned from a preexisting program), March of 1996 saw a flurry of enhancements, and many changes since then by programmers from the Detroit office... The distribution library should still be available from the Detroit office - ask for the library called AEGINW351... There may be some instructions for installing and using it as well... (Note there was a TASK # conflict with one of the bespoke tasks in this module when migrating to 3.5.2B (not sure which SP) that required a renumbering of the task at hand... I forget which task # it was now...) Yes, it was rather inconvenient to not be able to include your WIP in the Physical Inventory... Summarizing tags for the same part is a real plus too... It was born from the efforts of the Automotive Enhancement Group (A customer driven users group...) but there is no reason other verticals could not take advantage of this functionality... I would vote to get the /INS2 menu and it's functions added to Standard Product...!!! This was originally the intent of the AEG but I do not know that status of that initiative for this particular module... I do know that great strides have been made in the enhancement of the Vendor Scheduling module based on the work of the AEG... The Inventory Tagging module, I fear, has not shared the same success... More's the pity... If anyone has an update on that I'd like to hear it... Thanks. When did JBA develop the WIP Cycle Counting Process? I have checked on my system and I do not believe we have this menu (INS2). When we installed JBA several years ago, we specifically asked for this capability and JBA never delivered. We eventually just quit using multiple step routes that created WIP inventory. We now use single step routes so we can cycle inventory at any point in the manufacturing process.
