Sorry, by QCTL I meant the Control subsystem.

Why not take the INTER Subsystem down and the IS can still log on to QCTL to
monitor the jobs

We do end the monitors, but people still sometimes enter stuff. As for
varying off the devices, we use Client Access, my experience has been the
system simply auto creates the next device. Not to mention that there are
to many to mess with and many of these users still have legitimate inquiry
needs during the close process.

Why not end all monitors and vary off their devices.

Subject: JBA ML - Month end procedures

Our accountants have been relying on people not entering new transactions
while they run reports and perform month end closes. Since this is
basically an honor system, frequently someone forgets and enters something.
There must be a better way.

What procedures are others doing to keep transactions from being posted
during the month end close process? Suggestions.

Thanks
