Andrei,

There used to be problems with this job going back several versions. It
was to do with sundry invoices not being purged, rather than anything to do
with the time it took. The last time an archiving job lasted more than 2
days we were running an AS/400 B30 model!

We run this job once a year, and it generally completes in less than 15
hours. We have run it successfully at V3.5.1 and V3.5.2 SP3 in recent
times. As a rough guide the main file sizes before our last archive were:
APP52 - 4,000,000 records, APP52 - 4,500,000 records, OEP40 - 400,000
records, OEP55 - 2,000,000 records.

The records removed from the 'live' files are written to history files -
APP70 to APP70H, OEP40 to OEP40H, and so on. Only cancelled or completed
orders, and paid invoices, are purged so you should not have any problems
ending the job. The last part of the job is to re-org all the files, so
you will not have freed up any disk space. Did you get any exception or
control reports? The first should list any orders or invoices not deleted
and the reason, and the second gives the number of records on file before
and after the purge. Cancelling the job probably means you din't get the
control report, but you may have a partial exceptions report.
