I think it depends very much on the ERP system. If the system you have is keeping up to date with regular improvements, there should be little reason to undergo the enormous expense of replacing it. Basically, it should not get out of date. Unfortunately, System 21 IS getting out of date. With the layoffs in the System 21 development centre this looks like getting worse, so I think more of us will up looking for alternatives over the next few years.
