Well I have been hesitant to say anything but can not contain my self any more. We are running 3.5.2 SP2 STYLE, we have not EDI interface software other than what we have developed ourselves. We use Gentran to map data, 1-1 relationship between map and customer/transaction set. We currently receive 850, 830, 754, 869 and 820's we send 810, 753, 870 and 856's. We were doing most of these prior to converting to System 21 in Nov, 98 and could not get System 21 applications to work correctly. We designed and developed our own interfaces from Mapped data to System 21 batch files or directly to System 21 applications based upon what we needed the application to do. Since we use PKMS for distribution some of the data we use is in PKMS files rather than strictly System 21 files. I would not recommend this approach to the faint hearted but since we were already very familiar with the EDI transaction sets this approach worked better for us. I do not know how much the interface programs cost but I will say we have about 3 people months invested in design and development and have 1 programmer that spends about 20% of his time working on support or new issues. I will add that both JCPenney, Home depot and Sears seem to be happy with all the transactions we are pumping through at this time so it is possible to not have to purchase another package license if you want to go that route.
